First operational ship-to-ship ammonia bunker vessel enters service
The 5,500 m³ liquefied gas carrier Shenghang Yongle has been converted into a ship-to-ship liquid ammonia bunkering vessel, becoming the world’s first operational ammonia bunker vessel, according to FKAB Marine Design.
The conversion was led by Jiangsu Andefu Energy Development, with FKAB and cargo handling supplier Gloryholder providing the technical drawing documentation. The vessel has also received what FKAB described as the first ammonia bunkering class certificate from China Classification Society.
