Wallenius Wilhelmsen signs agreement for bio-methanol in Antwerp and Zeebrugge
Wallenius Wilhelmsen has signed a two-year fuel agreement with Equinor for the supply of mass-balanced bio-methanol, produced in Norway and delivered to its methanol vessels in Antwerp and Zeebrugge.
The bio-methanol, certified under ISCC EU standards, is expected to reduce CO₂ emissions by 95%, marking a significant step toward decarbonizing the company’s shipping operations. This partnership aims to support Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s goal to launch a net-zero end-to-end pilot service for select customers by 2027.
