Pacific Environment backs South Korea’s LNG exclusion in green shipping framework
Pacific Environment has welcomed South Korea’s decision to exclude LNG from fuels eligible for support under its green shipping corridor framework.
South Korea is moving ahead with regulations to implement its new Green Shipping Corridor Act, which will take effect on 1 April 2027. The draft rules, now open for public consultation until 13 October, will define eligible green fuels and technologies, set requirements for environmentally friendly ports, and establish criteria for designating green shipping corridors.
