India and Mauritius deepen energy ties and expand bunkering capacity
IndianOil (Mauritius), a subsidiary of state-owned energy company IndianOil, has broken ground on a new bunker fuel storage facility in Mer Rouge, Mauritius, as the country moves to strengthen its position as a regional bunkering hub.
The 27,500-metric-tonne capacity facility, representing an investment of $25 million, is expected to expand IndianOil (Mauritius)’s bunkering capabilities and support Mauritius’ efforts to develop its maritime fuel supply infrastructure. The foundation stone was laid on 21 August by India’s Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri.
