MMMCZCS: Biomethane offers a scalable route to early emissions reductions
Lower-emissions energy carriers for hard-to-abate sectors such as shipping are already available, but their deployment is unlikely to reach scale without regulations that make them cost-competitive, new analysis from Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping (MMMCZCS) highlights.
This has prompted concerns that shipping-specific greenhouse gas (GHG) regulations could move faster than the availability of lower-emissions fuels needed to meet them.
