Everllence and Hudong-Zhonghua target more efficient LNG carrier propulsion
Everllence has signed an Engineering Design Agreement (EDA) with Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding to develop a 180,000-cubic-metre-class LNG carrier featuring Everllence’s DFE+ dual-fuel electric propulsion system.
The agreement, signed on June 5, 2026, aims to improve the efficiency and environmental performance of LNG shipping as the industry faces increasingly stringent IMO Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) requirements. The companies have previously worked together on 10 conventional dual-fuel diesel-electric LNG carriers.
