Morocco moves ahead with 560,000-tonne low-carbon ammonia project
KBR has been selected by ORNX Green Hydrogen to carry out the pre-front-end engineering design (Pre-FEED) phase of a large-scale low-cost ammonia project planned for Morocco’s Laâyoune region.
Announced on 12 August, the project is being supported by funding from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). KBR will provide technology licensing and Pre-FEED services for the development, which is expected to produce around 560,000 tonnes of ammonia per year using approximately 900 MW of electrolyzer capacity.
