LR: Study outlines framework for Safe Havens on ammonia-powered ships
The Lloyd’s Register Maritime Decarbonization Hub has highlighted the need for a consistent approach to the design, assessment and operation of Safe Havens on ammonia-fueled vessels.
The recommendation is outlined in the report Safe Havens for ammonia-fuelled ships, which examines how the maritime sector can apply lessons from industries with established experience in managing toxic gas risks, including offshore oil and gas and chemical processing.
