DNV issues recommended practice for hydrogen as a marine fuel
DNV has published a new recommended practice (DNV RP 0703) for the use of hydrogen as a marine fuel, with a focus on competence requirements for crew, inspectors, and technical personnel.
The guidance is intended to support safe handling of hydrogen systems on board vessels and can also be used as a basis for operational procedures and emergency preparedness planning. It builds on DNV’s existing competence frameworks for other low GHG fuels such as LNG, ammonia, and methanol.
