North Sea Port prepares for alternative fuel bunkering
North Sea Port is making preparations to enable refuelling of alternative fuels as a risk analysis has demonstrated that the port meets all the conditions to be able to safely carry out bunkering of LNG, hydrogen, methanol and ammonia in Vlissingen, Terneuzen and Ghent.
As international shipping increasingly shifts from traditional fossil fuels such as fuel oil and diesel to more sustainable alternatives, North Sea Port commissioned an external study to assess all port berths and determine where these alternative fuels can be bunkered.
