Shanghai completes world’s largest green methanol bunkering operation
China’s Shanghai Electric Group has completed an 8,000-tonne green methanol bunkering operation for a containership at Yangshan Port in Shanghai, marking what it described as the world’s largest single green methanol bunkering operation.
The vessel, owned by shipping and logistics giant CMA CGM Group, was refuelled on 17 August as China seeks to expand the use of alternative fuels in maritime transport.
