NYK takes delivery of eighth LPG dual-fuel carrier
NYK has taken delivery of the newly built very large gas carrier (VLGC) Lyla Pathfinder, which will be chartered by UAE-based LPG trader BGN INT FZCO for the global transportation of LPG.
The vessel is NYK’s eighth LPG dual-fuel carrier. Lyla Pathfinder is equipped with a dual-fuel engine capable of operating on heavy fuel oil and LPG. Its shaft generator system uses rotational energy from the main engine to generate electricity, reducing the need for diesel fuel and enabling near-complete operation on LPG.
