DNV: Alternative-fuel orders slow in 2026 but momentum continues
New data from DNV’s Alternative Fuels Insight (AFI) platform highlights changing patterns in vessel ordering activity during the first half of 2026.
According to DNV’s May AFI data, the share of alternative-fuelled vessel orders is lower than at the same point in 2025. Jason Stefanatos, Global Decarbonization Director at DNV, noted that the figures reflect changing market dynamics rather than diminished commitment to the energy transition.
